Do I need a visa for Pakistan?
UK British Citizen passport holders: yes — an eVisa, arranged online in advance, valid for stays of up to 90 days for tourism.
US passport holders: yes — a full visa, applied for before you fly, generally through the Pakistani embassy or consulate.

What US travellers need
US passport holders currently go through the traditional visa route. The eVisa system has widened over the years but US citizens should plan for embassy-style processing: application form, appointment (sometimes), documents in physical form or uploaded, biometrics depending on where you apply. Expect several weeks of processing.

Timeline
UK travellers: allow 4 weeks minimum end-to-end. Gather your documents in week 1, submit in week 2, wait 2–3 weeks for the eVisa. Print the approval email — a lot of border officers still want the paper.
US travellers: allow 6–8 weeks. The paperwork is more, and embassy processing is slower than an online eVisa. If you're going for a wedding or fixed date, start the day you commit.
