Irish citizens, as EU passport holders, can enter Georgia for tourism or short business visits without needing a visa. You can enjoy a long stay, but always ensure your passport is valid for the entire duration of your intended visit. Insurance (checked 5 Oct 2026 against the Georgian MFA embassy insurance guidance and the Georgian National Tourism Administration): from 1 January 2026 tourists entering Georgia must hold mandatory health and accident insurance with at least GEL 30,000 coverage for the entire stay, from entry to exit including arrival and departure days. The policy can be from a Georgian or foreign insurer, physical or electronic, in English or Georgian. GEL 30,000 is the minimum coverage, not the policy price. The Georgian MFA lists exceptions for: diplomatic/special visas; diplomatic, official, service or special passports; accredited mission, consular or international organisation staff and their families; treaty entrants; international road transport drivers. Individual treaty or special-status exemptions were not assessed — anyone claiming one must confirm eligibility with Georgian authorities.

• ✓Have proof of sufficient funds for your trip, although not always requested.
