US ordinary passport holders can apply online for a Belarus eVisa (single entry, up to 30 days including arrival and departure days) through the official E-Pasluga service linked from Belarus's Foreign Ministry. Carry the electronic or printed grant. The Foreign Ministry says all international checkpoints accept it; the State Department says eVisa entry is limited to Minsk Airport — confirm your entry point with the embassy, your airline and border authorities before travel. You cannot enter Belarus on the eVisa from Russia, or go on to Russia with it. Longer stays or other routes need a different visa. This is not visa-free entry.

You may need a visa if…

• Entry-point conflict: Belarus's Foreign Ministry says the eVisa works at all international checkpoints; the State Department says Minsk Airport only. Confirm before travel — unrestricted land entry is not guaranteed.
• No eVisa entry from Russia, and the eVisa does not allow onward entry to Russia.
• Medical insurance valid in Belarus of at least EUR 10,000 is required.
• Stays over 10 days require registration within 10 days (hotels usually handle this).
• The State Department says Do Not Travel to Belarus, citing arbitrary detention risk, and US consular services in Minsk are suspended. This is a safety warning, not a visa rule.
• Official fee shown by the Foreign Ministry: EUR 60 + 6 standard adult fee.
