Full visa applications can take several weeks.
All foreign tourists, including UK passport holders, need to obtain a visa in advance to enter Bhutan. Additionally, a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is levied per person per night for the duration of the stay. This process is generally managed through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator, though direct visa application and SDF payment are now possible.
For UK British Citizen passport holders, tourism or short business trips.
